The Ruby-throated Hummingbird migrates to New York during the warm season months. It feeds from the nectar of many of our native flowers and is especially attracted to red and orange tubular flowers. Hummngbirds can also catch insects in midair as they are particularly agile flyers.New York is home to 450 different bee species, about 17 of which are bumblebee species. These cute, furry, large, buzzing bees are welcome in any garden.
