Who We Are
Our club welcomes everyone, from eager beginners to seasoned master gardeners. Each member contributes their own unique perspective, fostering an atmosphere of mutual learning and growth.
We are particularly passionate about the importance of planting native species, recognizing their role in supporting local ecosystems and promoting biodiversity.
Our commitment to education and sustainable practices ensures that we not only cultivate beautiful gardens but also contribute positively to our environment.
What We Do
We proudly maintain five beautiful pollinator gardens and our town planters from Spring through the first frost.
Join us this Mother’s Day weekend for our annual fundraising plant sale, featuring a wide variety of carefully selected plants, including natives, perennials, and hanging baskets, to enhance your garden while supporting a great cause.
During the holidays, we add a festive touch to our streets and government buildings with stunning evergreens and natural winter decorations.
Our History
Founded on September 24, 1926, with a mission to promote gardening and civic beautification, we are excited to mark the Garden Club of Yorktown’s 100th Anniversary in 2026. For a century, our volunteers have helped our town bloom —and every project sparks a love of gardening.
Join us for

Area Garden Tours
Our public garden tours are a favorite way for members to learn, connect, and get inspired. Being close to an extraordinary variety of public gardens, we’re able to explore beautiful landscapes, discover new plants and design ideas, and bring fresh knowledge and creativity back to our own backyards.
Grange Fair
The Garden Club of Yorktown regularly participates in the annual Yorktown Grange Fair by taking charge of the Produce and Flower competitions, including acting as distinguished judges.
Civic Involvement
The Blue Star Memorial tribute marker located at the Veteran Memorial Circle garden is recognized nationwide and founded by National Gardens Clubs Inc.
Evergreen and Plaque. To commemorate its 90th Anniversary, the GCY planted an evergreen tree, located near Town Hall, to symbolize growth, strength and environmental stewardship.
