Keeping Yorktown Beautiful
The number of gardens we now maintain has grown to FIVE gardens, plus Town planters. A brand new, fully native garden was installed at Baldwin Rd., and Veteran Memorials Garden has moved into Phase 2, with irrigation to be installed soon by the Town. The public is encouraged to stop by and appreciate the BEAUTY of the new pollinator garden.
Moving on to Phase 2
Behind our volunteers is phase 1 of our garden revitalization plan. We invite the public to come and view the new garden!

Solarizing the Weeds
Club members apply a weed barrier and cardboard to eliminate a large area of weeds. In 4-8 the sun’s heat will kill the weeds. The layers are removed and the soil is ready to be amended with fresh compost.
